Frequently Asked Questions

Is there an age requirement?
We prefer that your child not need a car seat for transport.  Children over 8 or 80 lbs. are welcome.

Do you take reservations?
We operate on a first come, first serve policy. Due to changing water conditions our trip length varies and reservations become too unpredictable. We may run out of rentals for a period of time on the busiest days, but we do keep a waiting list for when rented kayaks are returned.

Can I use a credit card for payment?
Yes, we accept Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Discover.

How late can I stay on the river?
When we close at 6:00 pm, our last trip goes out at 6:00 pm, and we require that you return by 9:00 pm. This includes the shuttle trip back to the starting point. Please keep in mind that family time is important to us as well.

What is provided with my rental?
When you rent a kayak, we provide the boat, paddles, life jackets, shuttle service, and outstanding customer service.

Where do I park?
Please park on the street when you arrive at our shop. Our parking lot is used for our company vehicles and boat trailers which are always pulling in and out.

What should I take on the river?
Come prepared with sunscreen, bug spray, watershoes or sandals that strap, sunglasses, and weather appropriate clothing. Bring, rent, or buy a dry bag to keep snacks, phones and towels in.

You should leave all valuables in your vehicle or at home.  Jewelry is highly discouraged because it can slip or come off if you enter the water and will be lost.

Coolers are okay if you want to take a lunch and have a picnic on one of the many beaches. However, we ask that the cooler not be styrofoam and be medium size to fit in most boats.

Car keys should not be taken on the river!  We have a cubby to hold them in for you until you return.

Are dogs allowed?
Pets are allowed on kayak trips, but please use a leash on the shuttle.  You are responsible for any damage caused by your pet.

How early should I arrive?
You are welcome to arrive as early as you like, but please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your desired departure time.  Although we can’t guarantee each shuttle is on time, we will make every effort to maintain our schedule. There are numerous variables involved with each trip, so please be patient.  Getting each group comfortable and on the water sometimes takes longer than expected, but when it is your turn, you will receive the same courtesy.  If you are late, you are at the mercy of your shuttle party.  They have the final vote.

Stay Safe on the Water

Your safety is extremely important. Checking the water level is a good indicator of rapids and water conditions. We typically do not allow trips when the river is higher than 7 feet. Please call ahead of your trips to ensure we are open.

Severe Weather Policy

To ensure your safety our policy during times of severe weather is to cut off all kayak rentals 2 hours before predicted storms that threaten safe conditions on the water.
